In my blog I write about books, writing, publishing, authors, and any tangents related to all of those. And being a former elementary school teacher, I often find myself writing about education and kids.
Because I’m a copyeditor, I’m a bit of a word nerd and have been known to laugh out loud at punctuation jokes and other grammatical humor.
Outside of my blog I write funny poems, short stories, plays, and books for children of all ages. I’ve completed one middle grade novel, My Name Is Lupe Jones, and one early chapter book, The Year of the Guinea Pigs. Two of my poems are featured on smories.com. One of them is read by the most adorable little British girl. Check it out: www.smories.com/watch/blue.
I’m a member of SCBWI (the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators), and I’m the president and newsletter editor for the Berkeley branch of CWC (the California Writers Club). I am also a playwright with PlayGround SF, and through this organization, had one of my short plays, The Love Doctor, staged in front of a sold-out house at Berkeley Rep.
